I LOVE Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara. I swear by it, it’s cheap and does a damn good job in adding thickness and colour to eyebrows of all kinds. I tell all my friends about it and have once or twice physically pinned someone down to try the product on them. Those resistors (“Stop! I don’t need any product on my brows.”) quickly came to see how useful the Brow Drama is.
Why I love Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara
I have no eyebrows. And by that I mean, I have eyebrows but they are very fair and a little sparse. I can’t leave the house without any product on my brows (well I CAN but if I did I’d look like a washed out ghost). Girls with brows like mine know what I mean. If we leave the house without applying product on our brows it is because we’ve had them tinted and even then I always add a little sumtn sumtn.
This brings me to Maybelline Brow Drama. A really quick way to add colour and thickness to your brows is to use eyebrow mascara. If I am not wearing makeup, want a more natural look or just can’t be bothered with full-throttle eyebrow application, I apply Maybelline Brow Drama and my brow are ready to go in under 20 seconds. Maybelline Brow Drama makes them look thicker and more defined in a very natural way. No one can tell I am wearing brow product but if I were to put this product on only one brow and leave the other bare, the difference would be hugely noticeable!
How To Apply Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara For Thicker And More Defined Brows In Under 20 Seconds
Here’s how I apply Maybelline Brow Drama when I don’t have any other product on my brows.
First brush the product FORWARDS from the outer corner of your brow to the inner corner, toward your nose. Then without dipping into the tube again, brush the product backward from the inner corner to the outer corner. Repeat until desired thickness and colour intensity is achieved. This takes less than 20 seconds, including time spent cleaning any fall out (the applicator is big so product can fall outside the line of your brows).
I use a forward and back brushing technique because it transfers a lot more product onto the brow and makes the brows look thicker. If brushing brow hairs forward with tinted product is too extreme for you, try brushing the hairs upward and then backward. Remember to be gentle with your strokes. The gentler and more precise you are the more control you have over the final outcome—this is true of all makeup application.
How to use for Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara to set eyebrows and contain unruly hairs
If I already have pencil, powder or wax (or all three) on my brows I use Maybelline Brow Drama to set my masterpieces by gently brushing the product over my brows once or twice. I only use a backward brushing motion in this scenario as I don’t need extra tinting or volume.
By doing this I ensure my eyebrows are not at risk of smudging or rubbing off throughout the day. I also find that my overall application looks more natural and sculpted when I apply Brow Drama.
This method is also perfect for those who already have beautiful thick brows but just want to make them look neater and contain unruly or flyway hairs (otherwise known as cockroach legs). Maybelline Brow Drama actually comes in a transparent colour for this purpose.
Price of Maybelline Brow Drama And Where to Buy It
The RRP for Maybelline Brow Drama is $12.95. It can be purchased from major retailers like Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Kmart and Target. All these stores often have discounts on Maybelline. I usually buy this product when a 40-50% off sale is taking place, making it the price around, $6.47. CHEAPER THAN A REGULAR GLORIA JEANS ICED COFFEE.
How does Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara Match Up To Similar Products?
Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara is in my opinion the best product in its price bracket. I also think it matches up to, or is even better than more expensive cult products.
Benefit Gimme Brow, for instance, work amazingly well and has a smaller and more accurate applicator making it easier to use. It also gives brows a little more volume than Maybelline Brow Drama but in my opinion does not tint the brows (add colour) any better. Given the price difference—Gimme Brow retails for $39—I stick with Brow Drama.
Compared to product like MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof Brow Set, I think Maybelline Brow Drama is the superior option solely due its colour. MAC offers six shades in its Waterproof Brow Set range but I find all these colours are a little too warm (orangey) and don’t look natural. Brow drama offers two colours, medium brown and dark brown, that are quite neutral and complement most skin tones. I have a blonde haired, blue eye-friend and Brow Drama in dark brown looked better on her than the Waterproof Brow Set colour that was custom chosen for her at the MAC counter.
Long story short, if you’re on the hunt for a new and cheap brow mascara give this product a go! I reckon you’ll love it as much as I do.
